Property Repair & Equipment Technician
Starting Wage: From $30.00/hour (based on experience)
Position Summary
Worry Free is seeking a skilled, dependable, and versatile Property Repair & Equipment Technician to join our year-round team.
The primary focus of this position is completing repair and restoration projects at residential and commercial properties following the winter season. From restoring interlock walkways and concrete to repairing fences, retaining walls, lamp posts, and other site features, this role helps return our clients' properties to excellent condition after winter operations.
When property restoration work is lighter, the successful candidate will assist with fleet maintenance, small engine repairs, equipment servicing, and improvements to our company facilities.
This position is ideal for someone with experience in construction, property maintenance, mechanical repairs, or a skilled trade who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking pride in quality workmanship.
Key ResponsibilitiesProperty Repair & Restoration (Primary Focus)
- Complete repair and restoration projects at residential and commercial properties following the winter season.
- Restore interlock walkways, patios, driveways, steps, curbs, and other hardscape features.
- Repair concrete sidewalks, curbs, pads, and masonry surfaces.
- Repair or rebuild retaining walls, landscape edging, and decorative stone features.
- Repair or replace fence sections, gates, posts, and related hardware.
- Repair or reinstall lamp posts, bollards, parking lot signage, parking curbs, and other site furnishings.
- Repair or replace eavestroughs, downspouts, fascia, and other exterior building components.
- Complete minor asphalt, grading, topsoil, sod, and restoration work as required to return properties to excellent condition.
- Assess repair requirements, document deficiencies,
and complete work to a high standard of craftsmanship.
- Maintain a professional appearance and provide exceptional customer service while working on client properties.
Facility Maintenance
- Complete repairs and improvements at company buildings, yards, and storage facilities.
- Perform general carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, welding, and maintenance tasks as required.
- Assist with shop organization, storage improvements, and facility upgrades.
- Maintain repair materials, tools, and supplies.
Fleet & Equipment Maintenance
- Assist with preventative maintenance and minor repairs on company trucks, tractors, trailers, loaders, and snow removal equipment.
- Assist with maintenance on small engine equipment, including lawn mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, backpack blowers, push blowers, chainsaws, generators, and other handheld equipment.
- Assist with seasonal servicing, including oil changes, filters, belts, blades, spark plugs, carburetor cleaning, tire changes, and equipment setup.
- Inspect tools and equipment for wear and identify maintenance needs before they become major repairs.
- Assist with equipment organization, tool inventory, and shop cleanliness.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in a safe, reliable, and work-ready condition.
General Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles, trailers, and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Maintain accurate records of completed repairs and equipment maintenance.
- Work independently while effectively managing daily priorities.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist other departments when operational needs require.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction, property repairs, general contracting, facilities maintenance, or a related trade.
- Experience repairing concrete, interlock, retaining walls, fences, or other exterior property features.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience maintaining equipment and power tools.
- Comfortable using a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
- Valid Class G driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from our office.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Assets
- Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, loaders, tractors, or other compact equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Small engine or heavy equipment mechanical experience.
- Experience with concrete finishing or masonry repairs.
- AZ or DZ driver's licence.
- Bilingual (English/French).
