About the Role

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong experience in commercial banking or financial services to join our team in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and executing automated testing frameworks and validating complex banking applications and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web and backend applications.
- Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and identify testing needs.
- Automate repetitive test scenarios and improve overall test coverage and efficiency.
- Perform API and database testing and validate data integrity.
- Identify, document, track, and troubleshoot defects through resolution.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery activities.
- Support UAT and production validation activities as needed.
- Maintain test documentation and provide clear status updates on testing progress, risks, and issues.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance / Test Automation .




- Robust hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools .
- Experience with Selenium, Java, Python, or similar automation technologies .
- Strong experience in API testing and automation.
- Good knowledge of SQL and database validation .
- Experience with functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing .
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments .
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional technical and business teams.

Commercial Banking Experience – Required
- Strong domain experience in Commercial Banking / Corporate Banking / Financial Services .
- Understanding of commercial banking processes, products, and workflows.
- Experience testing applications related to areas such as commercial lending, loans, credit, payments, deposits, treasury, cash management, or corporate banking .
- Ability to understand complex banking business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices .
- Experience with Jenkins, Git, GitHub, or similar tools .
- Experience with Postman or REST API testing tools .
- Experience with Cucumber / BDD .
- Experience with JMeter or performance testing tools .
- Experience working with cloud-based applications and microservices.
- Familiarity with banking platforms and financial services applications.

Note: Candidates must be comfortable working in a hybrid model in Toronto, ON
