Position Title
Recreation Attendant
Position Summary The Recreation Attendant plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional experience for participants in Intramural Sports, Recreation Activities, and other Student Life, Recreation programs as required. Under the supervision of the Student Engagement Coordinator, this position supports the planning, execution, and oversight of student events, while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging setting.
Position Responsibilities
Recreation Program and Event Delivery:
- Assist with the planning and delivery of recreational, intramural, and campus events.
- Lead the implementation and execution of Intramural Sports programming, including event setup, oversight, and game execution.
- Monitor participant activities to ensure safety and adherence to event procedures.
- Complete pre- and post-event setup and takedown as required.
- Check in participants for activities and events, verifying compliance with safety and procedural guidelines.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, consistent with the role and goals of Student Life programming.
Customer Service, Administrative & Technical Duties:
- Provide excellent customer service to all participants, creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Maintain an ongoing understanding of campus and community student events and activities, as shared by the Student Life Coordinator.
- Act as a liaison between participants and Student Life staff, promoting inclusivity and positive engagement.
- Utilize recreation software systems for activity-level planning, attendance tracking, and program registration.
- Manage equipment sign-in and sign-out processes, ensuring all items are tracked and returned in proper condition.
- Provide game play rosters, timekeeping, scorekeeping, and reporting as necessary.
Collaboration & Safety:
- Work collaboratively with other student service areas and departments to support shared initiatives.
- Conduct sport and recreation programs in a professional, organized manner.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during events and activities.
- Promptly report any incidents, injuries, or safety concerns to the Student Life Coordinator or appropriate staff.
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent to about 12 years of schooling.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and interest and some knowledge or interest in sport.
- Knowledge of RDP setting and sports is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude with a focus on customer service.

$19.65 per hour
Benefits and Compensation Information An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits.
