We are looking for Regional Directors to join the Women In STEM Network to help accelerate opportunities for women across science, technology, engineering, mathematics, medicine, and innovation.

Regional Directors form part of the Global Leadership Team and report directly to the CEO. They are responsible for regional growth, partnerships, sponsorships, stakeholder engagement, local community development, and regional representation. As the organisation is entering a major growth phase, this is a fantastic prospect for you to utilise your skills to grow the business and its network.

With your leadership, you will play an important role in scaling the Women In STEM Network to become one of the world’s leading global STEM communities supporting individuals, organisations and societies.

About the Women In STEM Network

Our mission is to empower collaboration to support women in STEM careers. We are a network that promotes a strategic solution for global societies to build and retain STEM talents, develop leadership capabilities, increase economic productivity and resilience. We run an integrated model that addresses interconnected challenges. This consists of:

- networking
- leadership development
- training and upskilling
- recruitment and career progression
- collaboration across STEM industries

The Region you are leading This Regional Director role is focused on representing the Asia region, where you will be responsible for leading activities and building partnerships across multiple countries in the region. It is not expected to have in-depth knowledge in all countries, but rather someone who is able to lead local hubs to deliver specific activities (see below)

or redefine regions over time.

Key responsibilities

With the support from the Regional Advisory Board, the Regional Director will be acting as the delivery lead for a number of activities. This falls across:

Membership Growth

- Increase membership within the region.
- Promote the Women in STEM Network
- Support member recruitment and retention.

Partnership Development

- Build partnerships with regional stakeholders that are in the STEM industry
- Identify and acquire potential sponsors and commercial partners
- Identify opportunities for collaboration and growth

Partner Engagement Regional Directors should actively engage with STEM organisations. Potential activities include:

- Organisational visits.
- Attend industry networking events.
- Career insight sessions.
- Workplace tours.
- Mentoring opportunities.
- Recruitment initiatives.
- Sponsored networking events.

Community Engagement

- Support regional communication channels.
- Encourage collaboration among members.
- Support local WhatsApp groups where appropriate.
- Identify regional opportunities and challenges.

Events

- Promote and support Women in STEM Network events.
- Recruit speakers from the region.
- Support local networking activities.
- Contribute to annual conference planning and delivery.

Strategic Leadership

- Participate in Global Leadership Team meetings.
- Share regional updates and insights.




- Contribute to organisational planning and growth.

Local Hub Development (if applicable) Local Hubs are leads within your region who will support you in delivering some of your responsibilities. This could be spread according to countries, areas or states.

- Establish and support local networking hubs.
- Recruit and support Hub Leaders.
- Encourage local networking and engagement activities.

The Ideal person We are looking for a leader with experiences in:

- Leading multiple people or teams
- The funding & investment landscape in the specified region
- Having networks in one or more STEM industries - this can include (not limited to) corporates, government, the third sector, investors, academia, philanthropies.
- Partnerships and sales
- Recruitment
- Project management skills
- Public relations or marketing
- Community/platform growth

Important Information This is initially a voluntary position during an important scale-up phase of the organisation.
