Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and preventive care strategies
- Assist with orthodontic procedures and provide support for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment
- Manage patient records using Cleardent or similar dental practice management software with accuracy and confidentiality
- Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly environment that encourages positive dental experiences
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth patient flow and exceptional customer service throughout each appointment
Experience
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in Alberta
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced dental office environment
- Proficiency in Cleardent or comparable dental software for scheduling, charting, and record management
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and oral health conditions
- Solid customer service skills with the ability to educate and reassure patients of all ages
