This is a permanent position ranging from 20-25 hours per week
Job Summary
- The nurse will provide high quality nursing care and a clinical administrative role to the patients, doctors and staff in a caring and supportive manner, and maintain confidentiality of all information.
- We are looking for an extremely reliable person to work with us in a fast-paced family medicine clinic who enjoys working with people and exhibits good time management.
- Essential skills include attention to detail, taking initiative, multi-tasking and problem-solving. Typing skills for general notation highly beneficial.
General Duties
- Clinical duties of a Family Medicine clinic including: Patient interactions, Injections (SC, IM), basic assessments with vitals, assisting physicians as needed, focused appointments (Well baby visits, pregnancy assessments, Diabetic appointments, etc.)
- Communication with staff and patients alike through various modalities as needed (in person, phone, email, fax)
- Typing/EMR notation is required for all interactions
- Maintaining equipment, materials, and supplies in all exam rooms
- Preventive Care Program assistance (ie: cancer screening tests)
- Administrative Duties include notation of interactions, phone calls as directed, booking appointments, support to reception when needed.
Education & Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the appropriate affiliations (please have certificate available)
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (PS Suite specifically) a necessity
- Understanding of medical terminology
- Previous experience in a family physician’s medical office preferred
