Role Description The Reporter is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. In this position, the Reporter researches, pitches, and develops news stories that align with Rogers’ editorial standards and audience needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include gathering information from multiple sources, conducting interviews, verifying facts, and producing explicit, engaging news content for digital, broadcast, and other platforms.

The Reporter collaborates closely with editors, producers, and multimedia teams to shape story angles, meet deadlines, and ensure accuracy and balance in coverage. The role also involves monitoring breaking news, staying current with local and national issues, and adapting stories for various formats and channels.

Qualifications

Strong reporting skills with experience in newsgathering, interviewing, and fact-checking.

Excellent writing and news writing abilities, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and compelling storytelling.





Effective communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional editorial and production teams.

Proficiency in multimedia content creation, such as video, audio, and digital publishing tools.

Relevant post-secondary education in journalism, communications, media studies, or a related field.

Demonstrated understanding of journalistic ethics, editorial standards, and legal considerations in reporting.

Ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom environment, manage multiple assignments, and meet tight deadlines.

Familiarity with Canadian news landscape and audience interests; knowledge of the Greater Toronto Area is an asset.

Comfort with using content management systems, social media platforms, and analytics tools to optimize reach and engagement.
