Position Summary The Retail Associate is responsible for delivering a seamless and professional retail and patient experience within Group23 clinics. This role supports retail operations, inventory management, and e-commerce fulfillment while assisting patients with product selection and basic brace fitting. Working closely with clinical and administrative teams, the Retail Associate ensures retail services are aligned with patient care, contributing to an efficient clinic environment and a high standard of service in support of Group23’s purpose, mission, and values.
Duties and Responsibilities
Patient & Customer Experience
- Support Group23's patient-centered care model by delivering a professional, informative, and consistent retail experience
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, athletes, and visitors in a clinical setting
- Assist patients with product selection, ensuring alignment with clinician recommendations where applicable
- Perform over-the-counter brace fittings and provide product guidance within scope
- Collaborate with physiotherapists and clinic staff to support patient care and product needs
- Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality in all patient interactions
- Act as a culture carrier, modelling Group23's purpose, mission, and core values
Sales & Transactions
- Accurately process transactions using POS systems and maintain proper documentation
- Open and close the retail area, including cash handling, balancing, and daily setup/tear-down
- Maintain accurate records related to sales and transactions
- Support off-site or event-based sales opportunities as assigned
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and advise leadership of critically low stock
- Receive, organize, and restock inventory
- Support inventory counts and reconciliation processes
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory, transactions, or orders
- Provide suggestions for inventory improvements based on patient needs and sales trends
Retail Space & Product Standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail space aligned with clinic standards
- Maintain knowledge of all retail products, including braces, supports, and therapy-related items
- Ensure required products are available and accessible to support clinicians
- Address customer concerns or escalate issues appropriately to management
E-Commerce & Order Fulfillment
- Support e-commerce operations, including order processing, packaging, and pickup coordination
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of online orders
- Maintain accurate records related to inventory movement and e-commerce orders
- Coordinate with clinic staff to ensure smooth patient pickup experiences and timely follow-up on orders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge
- Understanding of Group23’s purpose, values, services, and how retail supports the overall patient experience
- Familiarity with privacy, confidentiality, and IPAC/OHS standards relevant to clinic-based retail environments
- Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems, inventory tracking, and retail documentation
- General understanding of human anatomy to support product use and over-the-counter brace fitting
- Comfort with in-store and online retail operations, including order processing and product handling
Skills
- Excellent verbal, written,
and interpersonal communication skills, with professionalism in all interactions
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills, adaptable to different personality types
- Accurate keyboarding, data entry, and record keeping, including reporting on key performance indicators
- Strong planning, organization, and attention to detail in transactions, inventory, and order processing
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer software in a quick-paced environment

- Collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative teams

Qualifications
- High school diploma required; post-secondary education or studies in kinesiology, fitness, sport, or a related field is considered an asset
- 2–3 years of experience in retail, customer service, or a client-facing workplace
- Experience handling cash, POS systems, and daily retail operations
- Experience in a healthcare, fitness, or sports environment is an asset
- Training in privacy for healthcare environments, POS systems, and product/brace fitting provided upon hire
- Police Information Check required upon hire and as requested
