Role Description The Sale Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This role is responsible for assessing damaged or hazardous properties, preparing accurate cost estimates, and developing detailed scopes of work for restoration projects. Day-to-day tasks include visiting sites, gathering technical information, interpreting reports and drawings, and collaborating with operations teams to align estimates with project requirements and timelines.
The Sale
Estimator communicates with clients and partners to clarify project needs, explain estimates, and support proposal development. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date records, tracking bid status,
and contributing to continuous improvement in estimating processes and sales performance.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, including the ability to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates and project budgets.
- Proficiency in using estimating software, spreadsheets, and other digital tools to develop and present proposals.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills for engaging with clients, suppliers, and internal teams in a clear and professional manner.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as reports, drawings, and specifications related to property restoration.
- Experience in construction, restoration, or a related field, with knowledge of materials, labor requirements, and safety standards.
- Robust organizational skills, including attention to detail, time management, and the ability to handle multiple bids and deadlines.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build trust, understand client needs, and provide responsive, solutions-oriented service.
- Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline is an asset.
- Comfort working on-site at properties within the Greater Toronto Area and meeting applicable health and safety requirements.
