Abbeyfield House is a dedicated non-profit society in Sidney, BC that has been providing affordable housing and community support for independent seniors since 1987. Our mission is to foster a caring environment that promotes independence and well-being for our residents.

Summary

Are you someone who loves to cook and would like to share your culinary passion with a small group of independent senior residents in a small-scale seniors’ residence?

If so, this position could be perfect for you. St Andrews Abbeyfield House in Sidney, B.C. is looking to fill the Saturday and Holiday Shifts!

Shifts 10:00 AM - 6 PM (or split / flexable)

We offer a warm, friendly work environment, flexible shifts / hours

This role is vital in ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious and delicious meals, contributing to their comfort and quality of life. The ideal candidate will be passionate about food preparation and community service.

Responsibilities

- Homestyle cooking skills
- Set out self-serve breakfast
- Prepare homestyle Meals for 9 Seniors - Lunch (Main) and Light dinner




- Current Food-safe certificate or willing to get
- Clear criminal background check
- Ability to work independently and efficiently during weekends.
- Communicate and enjoy seniors
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure cleanliness after each shift.

- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for serving the community and supporting senior residents.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to residents' needs.
