Overview

By joining the Kardium Automation team, you will help bring a groundbreaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation to patients. Kardium has obtained FDA approval for the Globe® Pulsed Field System and is now on a pivotal launch phase.

Please note, this role is a hybrid work arrangement located in Burnaby, BC.

Responsibilities

- Design, implement, improve, and support software, firmware, and electronics for Kardium’s custom automated equipment (e.g., lasers, motion systems, pneumatic valves, heaters).
- Develop object‑oriented software in C# and Java, and firmware in relevant embedded languages.
- Select and integrate control‑system electronics.
- Capture and document requirements for custom automated equipment.
- Organize and participate in multi‑disciplinary design reviews.
- Transfer equipment to end users and provide ongoing support.

What You Bring to the Team

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Extensive experience in medical device automation.
- Robust object‑oriented software development skills.




- Experience developing firmware and electronics for embedded systems (PCB design, wiring harnesses, component selection).
- Experience implementing machinery‑safety control systems per ISO‑13849.
- Experience implementing temperature, motion, or other physical control systems, considering relevant codes and standards.

Compensation

Base salary + 5% RRSP contribution, total cash compensation range: $108,000 – $170,000 CAD annually. Salary will be determined based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, and business factors. As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock‑option plan.
