Senior Manager, Assurance Responsibilities
- Lead and execute large to mid‑size audits, review engagements and compilations.
- Work with owner‑managed private business clients within a public practice scope.
- Analyze and review corporate and personal income tax returns.
- Research and advise on complex accounting and auditing matters.
- Provide accounting solutions to clients and support their growth in changing business and financial conditions.
- Lead client engagements under varying reporting frameworks across multiple industries and sectors.
- Contribute to new business development by understanding the full spectrum of Doane Grant Thornton services and leveraging your field credibility.
- Act as a leader in the business unit, service line, and firm by contributing to the development and execution of the office business plan.
- Coaching and performance management: conduct timely performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and train junior team members.
- Maximize engagement profitability by effectively utilizing engagement resources.
- Plan and lead teams to exceed client expectations.
- Supervise and mentor an accounting team, including file review.
Qualifications
- CPA designation (or equivalent).
- At least 8 years of accounting‑related experience,
preferably in public practice.
- Superior technical expertise in accounting and auditing; experience with privately held businesses is an asset.
- Commitment to quality, excellence and continual professional growth for yourself and those you manage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional interpersonal skills to earn the trust and confidence of clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Strong management skills, especially in scheduling, organizing, supervising and managing multiple teams.
- Self‑motivated, results‑oriented multi‑tasker who works independently and collaboratively with a desire to grow.
- Robust interest in coaching and development, with a commitment to personal growth.

Compensation
The current salary range for this role is $110,000–$150,000 in Thunder Bay. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
