Position Overview The Senior Specialist, Custody Services is responsible for ensuring that all incoming Pooled Fund trade related information received is monitored, reviewed, acted upon timely, accurately and in compliance with departmental policies. Ensure all trade requests are relayed to and executed with the respective fund companies with accuracy and in accordance with fund company deadlines. Work with Pooled Fund Processing group to ensure all trade confirmations are received timely from the Fund Companies.





Responsibilities Ensure that the Pooled Fund and Rightfax mailboxes for incoming Trade Requests, Trade Confirmations and Statements are monitored and acted upon timely

Ensure all trade requests that require trade execution with the Fund Companies are completed correctly and in a timely manner

Verify and authorize trade execution requests prior to forwarding to the Fund Companies accordingly

Ensure all outstanding trade confirmations are monitored through to completion

Ensure all trade confirmations are appropriately attached to the pending trade related activity and forwarded to the processing group accordingly

Ensure that new CUSIPS are set up according to procedure as required

Investigate and respond to Pooled Fund Inquiries, ensuring that CIS inquiries are monitored and responded to timely (within 24 hours from receipt or depending on their urgency)

Ensure Specialists investigate and respond to all Pooled Fund trade execution related inquires for all Fund Companies assigned as Specialist responsibility

Ensure any procedure notes updates or any audit requirements updates have been saved in the G:Drive

Maintain professional working relationships with fund companies, clients, money managers, and other departments of CIBC Mellon

Ensure all daily checklists for the Trade Execution team have been completed, initialed by Specialists and submitted by 4:30 pm





Provide a completed Senior Specialist daily checklist, along with those of the Trade Execution Team, ensuring that all steps/controls have been performed. Submit to Supervisor by 4:45pm

Cross train within other areas of the Pooled Fund group, to ensure adequate coverage during staff shortages

Ensure 310 Reporting is completed Qualifications Successful completion of post-secondary program with focus on accounting or finance or equivalent training

3 years progressive experience in fund accounting and unitization

Detail oriented with good analytical and problem solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, market conditions, relevant experience, education, training, and internal equity.
