Role Description This is a full time, on-site role for a Siemens PLC Programmer based in Canada. The Siemens PLC Programmer will design, develop, and program Siemens PLC and HMI/SCADA solutions for industrial automation projects, ensuring reliable and efficient control of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities include interpreting electrical and control system schematics, writing and testing PLC logic, commissioning systems on the shop floor and at client sites, and troubleshooting control-related issues. The role involves collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams, preparing technical documentation, and supporting upgrades,



modifications, and optimization of existing automation systems. The Siemens PLC Programmer will also assist in ensuring that all solutions meet safety standards, customer specifications, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

- Strong Siemens PLC programming skills, including experience with TIA Portal, STEP 7, and Siemens HMI/SCADA configuration.
- Applied knowledge of industrial automation systems, including control panels, field instrumentation, drives, sensors, and communication networks (e.g., Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs;, and system architecture diagrams, and translate them into functional control logic.
- Experience with commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing PLC-based control systems in manufacturing or process environments.
- Familiarity with integration to higher-level systems such as MES, SCADA, data reporting, and plant IT applications is an asset.
- Relevant technical education in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
- Willingness to work on-site in Canada and occasionally travel to customer facilities as required; prior experience in industrial or manufacturing settings is beneficial.
