We are seeking a motivated and skilled Skidder Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating skidder machinery to efficiently extract logs and materials from forested areas, ensuring safe and productive operations. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, mechanical knowledge, and landscape maintenance will be essential to support sustainable forestry practices and project goals.

Responsibilities
- Operate skidder machinery safely and efficiently to transport logs from harvest sites to designated collection points
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards
- Assist with landscape maintenance tasks, including clearing debris, managing trail access, and supporting site preparation activities
- Use hand tools, power tools, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) technology for mapping, planning, and operational accuracy
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations during daily operations
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate logistics, optimize workflows, and meet project deadlines
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and operational logs
Requirements
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as skidders or similar forestry machinery
- Mechanical knowledge to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Construction experience or familiarity with land clearing and site preparation processes
- Ability to handle hand tools, power tools, and other landscape maintenance equipment effectively
- Knowledge of GIS technology for mapping and operational planning is a plus
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification preferred
- Robust understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and forestry work
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining a high level of safety awareness
