Do you want to help strengthen Squamish Nation families and ensure children grow up in safe, culturally-grounded environments? The Ayás Mén̓men Child and Family Support Services team is seeking a dedicated Social Work Team Assistant to provide crucial support to our social workers and directly assist children, youth, and families. This role combines administrative coordination with hands-on client support, all while honoring Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values of family, healing, and community connection. What You’ll Do

- Provide direct support to Social Workers including case management assistance, file organization, and documentation under the Child, Family and Community Service Act
- Supervise access visits between children and families, ensuring safe and supportive environments
- Transport clients to appointments and activities, advocating for their needs
- Assist with cultural plans and care plans, helping maintain children's connections to Squamish culture and community
- Coordinate case conferences and meetings, taking notes and following up on action items
- Complete referrals and applications for services to support children and families
- Help organize community events and programming that strengthen families
- Maintain client files and records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
- Support Jordan's Principle applications and coordination when needed
- Uphold wenáxws (respect) and snew̓íyelh (teachings) in all interactions

What We’re Looking For

- Experience in social services, child & family support, or Indigenous community work
- Knowledge of Child, Family and Community Service Act and delegated authority processes
- Strong organizational skills for case management and documentation
- Ability to work sensitively with children, youth, and families in challenging situations




- Understanding of trauma-informed practices and cultural safety principles
- Valid driver's license and willingness to transport clients as needed
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends when required for family visits or events
- Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.
- Knowledge and understanding of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw history, culture, customs, land, and People is preferred.
