We're a small, hands-on team.

We're looking for a Sous Chef to work directly under the head chef and take real ownership of events, not just prep support.

Role Description

We're looking for a Sous Chef to support the head chef across the full life of an event: prep, ordering, and execution.

On smaller or more straightforward events, you'll be given the details and run the event yourself. That means ordering ingredients, prepping, and executing on-site, either solo or leading a small team.

On bigger events, you'll work alongside the head chef.

Responsibilities

Handle ordering and ingredient sourcing for assigned events

Prep menu items to spec, following recipes and prep lists

Run events independently when assigned, from prep through service





Lead and direct other kitchen staff on-site when working with a team

Keep kitchen organized: labeling, storage, food safety standards

Communicate with the head chef on event details, timing, and any issues

Step in on client-facing basics when needed, like answering questions in office or coordinating with the venue

Qualifications

Solid all-around cooking skills. Comfortable executing a full menu, not just single tasks

Experience running a kitchen or event with some independence

Trustworthy with ordering and budget. Won't overspend or under-order

Good under pressure, takes initiative, doesn't need hand-holding

Prior catering or restaurant experience preferred

Flexible availability for evenings and weekends, valid driver's license an asset
