Position Overview We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our expanding tax team. The successful candidate will be a technically strong tax professional with expertise in Canadian corporate tax and an interest in developing experience in U.S. and international taxation. This role offers exposure to cross-border mergers and acquisitions, tax due diligence, and post-acquisition integration activities.
Reporting to senior tax leadership, you will work closely with finance teams across multiple jurisdictions, manage external tax advisors, and contribute to a wide range of complex tax matters within a global organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and comfortable operating in a quick-paced, high-growth environment. Success in this role requires solid organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to manage both independent projects and collaborative initiatives.
Compensation Salary Range: CAD $100,000 - $120,000 Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the consolidated tax provision process for quarterly and annual financial reporting, including related tax disclosures under IFRS (IAS 12).
- Prepare Canadian corporate income tax filings, including T2, T106, and T1134 forms.
- Prepare U.S. federal tax returns and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with global finance teams to ensure international tax filings are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Support M&A; transactions through tax due diligence, risk assessment, tax structuring, and integration planning.
- Conduct research and provide analysis on complex domestic and international tax matters.
- Liaise with tax authorities and assist with audits, inquiries, and regulatory correspondence.
- Prepare technical tax memorandums supporting restructuring initiatives, filing positions, and other complex tax matters.
- Assist in integrating newly acquired businesses, including implementation of tax compliance processes, reporting requirements, and governance standards.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization.
- Provide guidance and support to finance teams on day-to-day tax matters and escalated issues.
Qualifications & Experience Required - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive tax experience with a strong foundation in Canadian corporate income tax.
- Experience preparing and reviewing quarterly tax provisions under IFRS.
- Experience preparing and reviewing complex Canadian corporate tax returns.
- Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other financial reporting tools. Preferred - Exposure to U.S. taxation and international tax matters.
