We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Delivery Helper to assist with loading, unloading, and transporting goods within warehouse and distribution environments. This role supports the delivery team by handling heavy items, operating various types of heavy equipment, and ensuring efficient order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge to contribute effectively to shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks using equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers
- Support warehouse operations including order picking, packaging, and shipping & receiving activities
- Operate heavy equipment safely in accordance with warehouse management system protocols (e.g., AS400)
- Help with inventory management by organizing stock and maintaining accurate records of shipments
- Perform heavy lifting tasks to move products or materials throughout the warehouse or distribution center
- Aid in order fulfillment processes to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Support construction or manufacturing-related tasks as needed for warehouse setup or maintenance
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety standards are upheld during all operations
Requirements
- Prior warehouse experience preferred, including familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, or order pickers
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in manufacturing or construction environments is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods
- Experience with shipping & receiving procedures and order fulfillment processes
- Knowledge of AS400 systems or similar warehouse management software is advantageous
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work as part of a team in a rapid-paced environment
- Physical stamina to handle long shifts involving load & unload activities and extensive walking or standing
