About This Opportunity Join our team as a Weekend Networking Session Volunteer and help create a relaxed, creative session centred around books, crafts, and community connection. As a volunteer, you will support a small group of participants as they explore books, take part in straightforward craft activities, and connect through shared interests and conversation.
What You Will Do
- Help arrange books, craft supplies, tables, and activity materials
- Welcome participants and introduce the book fair and craft activities
- Assist participants with selecting books and browsing available materials
- Support simple crafts such as bookmarks, book covers, reading-themed decorations, or other creative projects
- Help explain activity instructions and provide assistance when needed
- Encourage participants to discuss their favourite books, authors, genres, or creative interests
- Help keep supplies organized and the activity area tidy
- Participate in conversations and activities to create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere
- Assist with basic setup and cleanup

Who We’re Looking For
- Age between 12–30
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of small groups
- Patient, respectful, and supportive when working with seniors
- Ability to guide discussions and encourage participation
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail in preparing slides and handouts
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Ability to adapt communication style to different learning needs
- Commitment to completing basic training
- Fluency in English
- Successful Vulnerable Sector Check (required if over 18)
