About the Role

Stanmore Equipment is seeking a reliable, safety-focused, and motivated Yard Person to join our operations team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our rental fleet is organized, inspection-ready, and prepared for customers. The successful candidate will safely move equipment throughout the yard, perform basic inspections, document equipment condition, fuel machines, and help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely move and stage equipment throughout the yard and facility, including:
- Boom Lifts
- Scissor Lifts
- Telehandlers
- Rough Terrain Forklifts
- Industrial Forklifts
- Fuel equipment before customer deliveries and after returns.
- Perform pre-rental and post-rental visual inspections.
- Identify, document, and report equipment damage or excessive wear.
- Take clear photographs of machine condition and damage using a mobile device or tablet.
- Complete inspection checklists and report findings to the Service Department.
- Assist with loading and unloading rental equipment when required.
- Maintain accurate equipment locations within the yard.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Support technicians and the rental team with general yard duties.
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturer operating guidelines.

Qualifications

- Experience operating forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, or similar construction equipment is considered an asset.




- Ability to safely learn and operate a variety of equipment.
- Strong attention to detail when inspecting and documenting equipment condition.
- Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet to take photos and complete digital inspections.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when required.

Requirements

- Valid G Class Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Previous experience in construction equipment, heavy equipment, landscaping, transportation, or equipment rental is preferred.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
