Position Overview
The Department of Counselling Psychology in Trinity Western University’s School of Graduate Studies invites applications for a full‑time tenure‑track faculty position beginning August 1, 2026. Skilled specializations, research interests, and level of academic rank are open. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in higher education—preferably in a graduate counselling program—an established program of scholarly research, and experience teaching graduate courses, providing clinical and thesis supervision, and offering clinical services in diverse settings.
Responsibilities
- Teach graduate courses in counselling psychology.
- Supervise MA theses and consult in diverse agency settings.
- Provide clinical supervision to graduate students.
- Conduct scholarly research and publish findings.
- Lead and develop program initiatives, including mentorship of women professionals and scholars, international student development, and child and youth counselling.
Qualifications
- Doctoral (or terminal) degree in counselling psychology or a related field.
- Registered psychologist or eligible for registration in British Columbia.
- Leadership experience in a graduate counselling program.
- Demonstrated research record with publications and grant experience.
- Teaching experience in graduate education.
- Experience in clinical supervision and thesis oversight.
- Interest or experience in at least one of the following: mentoring women professionals, international student development, qualitative or quantitative research methods, child and youth counselling, psychopathology, or testing and assessment.
- Ability to integrate Christian faith and values into teaching and scholarship.
