Join North York General to accelerate your career! Position Summary Research Assistant As the Research Assistant, you will provide non-technical assistance, organization and administrative support to research projects at a basic level.

The Research Assistant reports to the Clinical Program Director, or the Principal Investigator, who typically provides oversight and accountability for Research Activities or is a Research Scientist.

The tasks are well defined and require limited initiative and judgment.

Flexibility is required for work beyond the job description at times, as work demands.

You are computer proficient and also are able to keep written records.

You have excellent communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills.

You have the ability to work independently, in small groups and in a team environment.





You have excellent organizational skills and are able to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner with the flexibility to adapt to changing workload.

Your attention to detail is excellent and you have proven ability to learn new skills.

This position supports the hospitals academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation.

This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families.

On a practical level, you will Attend training and supervision sessions Plan, implement and coordinate all aspects of subject recruitment, data collection, record data and source documentation Screen potential participants for study inclusion according to protocol Recruit participants in-person Collect data in-person and via phone calls, interviews Collect body measurement data in-person with enrolled participants Insert collected data in an electronic based survey database Limited processing of data Collaborate and communicate with the research team to identify problems and assist in developing plans to resolve them Prepare papers for presentation and/or publication Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree or relevant experience, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Psychology preferred Demonstrated knowledge of medical and scientific terminology Basic computer skills Related research experience, preferred Progressive experience in a clerical type position Ability to understand written and verbal directions Bilingualism in French/English is an asset What We Offer Working at NYGH means working with a dynamic team of fellow healthcare providers, staff, and volunteers in one of Canadas leading hospitals.

This is a Part-Time Temporary position (4 months contract), with 4 , 6 and 8 hour, day shifts on an as needed basis in the Emergency Unit We offer a highly competitive total compensation package which includes pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan #INDO
