As part of a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive team, you will help create outstanding Team Member experiences by supporting the organization’s people strategies, programs, and initiatives.
This generalist role is actively involved in recruiting and onboarding, learning and development, healthcare benefits administration, well-being initiatives and Occupational Health and Safety. In support of Destination Vancouver’s culture and values, the Coordinator builds strong internal relationships and responds to requests in a timely manner, using discretion and respecting confidentiality at all times.
Working in partnership with the Director, People & Culture, the responsibilities include:
Strategic Accountabilities
§ Champion Destination Vancouver’s culture, values, and exceptional Team Member experiences.
§ Support Team Member engagement through recruitment, onboarding, and development initiatives.
§ Build trusted relationships by providing responsive, confidential support to Team Members.
§ Ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant People & Culture administration and processes.
Other responsibilities include:
People Programs & Policies
- Provides support, communicates and assists in all aspects of Destination Vancouver’s strategic People Programs and Polices.
- Supports Team Member engagement, recognition, and culture-building initiatives that reinforce Destination Vancouver’s values and contribute to exceptional Team Member experiences.
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Assists with full cycle recruitment including drafting position descriptions and postings, screening applications, conducting pre-screening and in-person interviews, scheduling and coordinating interviews with hiring Managers, checking references and maintaining communication throughout the recruiting process to ensure exceptional candidate experiences.
- Facilitates the onboarding of new Team Members, ensuring they are welcomed, informed, and set up for success.
Team Member Well-being
- Supports the planning, coordination, and promotion of Destination Vancouver’s well-being initiatives and annual Well-being Program.
Learning & Development
§ Coordinates learning and development activities, including organization-wide training sessions, Lunch & Learns, and other Team Member development opportunities.
§ Supports Team Member engagement initiatives and collaborates with the Social Committee on events and activities.
Benefits & Administration
- Assists with extended healthcare benefits administration, including recent Team Member set-up, handles internal inquiries.
- Generates Team Member correspondence such as confirmation of employment and service recognition.
- Administers the Team Member Service Award Program.
- Assists with the administration of the Occupational Health & Safety program.
- Maintains confidential records in ADP’s WorkforceNow Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

§ Passionate about Vancouver as a place to live, work and explore.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience and success in a similar People & Culture generalist role within a values-driven culture.
§ Experience supporting Team Member engagement, recognition, and workplace culture initiatives.
§ Demonstrated problem-solving skills, adaptable, and able to deal effectively with ambiguity – excellent judgement and critical thinking ability in all areas of Human Resources.
§ Strength in building trust and rapport and in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
§ Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful,
and equitable work environment.
§ Strong understanding of the BC Employment Standards Act, WorksafeBC and Human Rights legislation.
§ Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and the development and delivery of learning and development initiatives.
§ Experience with extended healthcare benefits administration and well-being programs.
§ Strong organizational and administrative skills; able to set and meet deadlines.
§ Detail oriented, proactive, energetic, results driven, tactful, and diplomatic.
§ Strong internal and external customer service orientation.
§ Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
§ Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive and confidential information.
§ Strong workplace technology skills including AI-enabled tools and applications relevant to Human Resources.
§ Experience with HRIS (ADP’s WorkforceNow an asset).
§ Post-secondary education in human resources or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CPHR designation, or working towards, an asset.

This position is based in Destination Vancouver’s corporate offices with views of the North Shore mountains and proximity to transit and downtown amenities. In order to best support Destination Vancouver’s team this role is primarily in-person.
We are proud to offer a competitive Total Rewards package including:
Expected starting salary: $58,000 - $66,200
