Practice Details
Northern Health Authority is seeking a Pediatrician to join a General Pediatrics Practice in Terrace. Terrace is the regional hub and referral center for the Northwest region. It is a teaching site for UBC Medicine. There is significant primary care capacity and outstanding specialist support and services.
The Terrace Pediatrics group is moving into a brand recent clinic space next to the newly opened Ksyen Regional Hospital. They will be co-located with the Obstetrics and Gynecology team and the Well Womens clinic.
The selected applicant will join a group of wonderful,
experienced Pediatricians and would be responsible for office work and hospital on call. Teaching to family practice residents and 3rd and 4th year medical students will be expected periodically. There is opportunity for outreach work to the surrounding communities.
Hospital duties currently include ED consults, both in person and virtually to neighbouring communities, care of pediatric inpatients, stabilization and transfer of high-risk pediatric and newborn patients (if indicated).
Ksyen Regional Hospital is preparing to open the new 4 bed NICU, and the projected call schedule will be 1:5. This community funded project is a first for the Northwest region and will allow the team to care for newborns 32 weeks and above.
Gross compensation for this position is based on an Alternative Payment Plan annual rate plus rural retention premium, flat fees and CME funding.
We welcome applications from Canadian trained, newly graduated, or international educated (via the approved jurisdiction or practice eligibility routes) Pediatricians.

Ksyen Regional Hospital
Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients in November 2024. More than double the size of the previous hospital, it is a center for trauma services, acute care, surgical services pathology, radiology, clinical support and pharmacy services for the Northwest region. The hospital staff prides itself on delivering culturally safe care to our Indigenous populations.

The hospital is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program and residents through the UBC Family Medicine Residency Program.
