**Job Title: Millwright**

**Job Description**

This contract millwright role supports a major facility consolidation by dismantling, relocating, and reassembling industrial machinery between two manufacturing sites.

Working as part of a close-knit maintenance team, you will perform mechanical, fabrication, and electrical tasks to ensure equipment is safely moved, installed, and brought back into operation.

The position is based primarily at the Langley facility, with work also required at the Agassiz site during the transition period.

**Responsibilities**

+ Dismantle, move, and reassemble industrial machinery and equipment from the Agassiz facility to the Langley facility.
+ Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a wide range of production equipment.
+ Carry out fabrication work, including cutting, fitting, and welding components as required for installations and modifications.
+ Install, align, and commission machinery, ensuring proper operation and adherence to safety and quality standards.
+ Conduct electrical wiring and basic electrical work related to equipment relocation and installation, within scope of experience and qualifications.
+ Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to identify and resolve equipment issues.
+ Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical documentation to support installation and repair activities.
+ Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
+ Support PLC troubleshooting in collaboration with other maintenance team members, as needed.
+ Work collaboratively with a team of electricians and millwrights to plan and execute the facility move and ongoing maintenance activities.
+ Occasionally work afternoon shifts and overtime to meet project timelines and operational needs.
+ Travel between the Agassiz and Langley facilities as required during the consolidation period, and occasionally to other sites for maintenance work.
+ Contribute to a safe work environment by following all safety procedures and reporting hazards or issues promptly.
+ Provide clear written and verbal updates on work progress and issues to team members and supervisors.
+ Demonstrate leadership when needed by helping coordinate tasks, supporting co-workers, and fostering a positive team environment.

**Essential Skills**

+ Minimum 3rd year millwright apprenticeship or equivalent millwright experience.
+ At least 3 years of experience in fabrication or electrical work related to industrial equipment.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in equipment repair, installation, and troubleshooting.
+ Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting.
+ Proficiency in welding and fabrication for maintenance and installation tasks.
+ Ability to perform equipment installation and preventive maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
+ Capability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
+ Experience with PLC troubleshooting support in conjunction with other maintenance professionals.
+ Ability to travel to and work at both the Agassiz and Langley facilities, with Langley as the primary base.
+ Willingness to work a 12–18 month contract term and accommodate occasional afternoon shifts.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.




+ Demonstrated ability to think creatively and solve problems in a practical, hands-on environment.
+ Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a cooperative, tight-knit team culture.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ First aid tickets are an asset.
+ Forklift and overhead crane (OHC) experience are considered strong assets.
+ Additional electrical experience beyond the minimum requirements is beneficial.
+ Red Seal certification as an industrial millwright is a strong asset.
+ 5 or more years of electrical or fabrication experience is considered an advantage.
+ Proven ability to lead and motivate others when coordinating tasks or supporting team members.
+ Comfort working in a dynamic project environment involving equipment moves and reconfiguration.
