Speech-Language Pathologist – Focus on Pediatrics

Location: Speechcombers Therapy, 200 – 2620 Commercial Dr, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and locations within the community

Setting: Private Clinic. Most sessions will be conducted at our warm, welcoming clinic (which includes a waiting room, a sensory room, and 2 other therapy rooms). Online sessions and sessions at clients’ homes/in the community are also possible. Many clients have shared that they enjoy our clinic’s atmosphere and we pride ourselves in having created a comfortable, sensory-friendly environment for staff to work from and for clients to enjoy during their appointments.

Employment Type: Part-time/Flexible (starting with 2-4 days/week), with possibility to increase to full time if desired by the candidate as the caseload grows. A caseload of 4-5 days/week is anticipated by October 2026. The candidate’s preference to be either an employee or an independent contractor will be considered for this position.

Pay: Pay will vary based on the candidate’s experience. Pay for an employee will range from $48-$60/hr, including billable hours plus 0.35 hours for prep/documentation time per 1-hour session. For more experienced clinicians who would prefer to be an independent contractor, pay will range from $80-95/hr, including billable hours only.

Start Date: Flexible between the dates of July 2 and September 14, 2026. An earlier start date may be possible (to be discussed).

Reports To: Clinic Owner/Lead Speech-Language Pathologist

We are a small, collaborative private clinic in Vancouver, BC dedicated to providing speech-language pathology support using neurodiversity-affirming approaches. We believe that every client's communication style, cognitive profile, and lived experience include strengths to build on — not deficits to correct. Our team works closely together, with overlapping sessions designed to encourage real-time collaboration across disciplines.

The role





We are looking for a registered or registration-eligible Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate would provide assessment and therapy services to clients across the lifespan. Because children and adolescents make up the majority of our caseload, we would consider a candidate who prefers to work with children and adolescents, but not adults. Most work will be based in our Vancouver clinic. Some sessions will be delivered via telehealth, and home or community visits may be part of your caseload.

This role is well-suited to both new graduates and experienced clinicians. We are committed to mentorship, reflective practice, and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

- Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments and therapy using neurodiversity-affirming approaches
- Develop and implement individualized, client-centred treatment plans which engage clients, families and caregivers as active partners the in therapeutic process
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Deliver therapy sessions in-clinic, via telehealth, and in home or community settings as needed
- Collaborate with colleagues during overlapping sessions, participating in joint problem-solving and integrated care
- Provide supervision to our Communication Health Assistant(s), if we discuss that this will be a part of your role
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with CHCPBC standards
- Engage in reflective practice and contribute to a culture of continuous learning
- Participate in team meetings and case consultations
- Prepare timely,



professional reports including assessment summaries, progress notes, and letters of support for funding applications (e.g., At Home Program, Variety Funding)

Qualifications

- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Registration with CHCPBC, or eligibility to register
- New graduates are warmly encouraged to apply — mentorship and supervision support are available, including supervision for the Registered Autism Service Providers (RASP) List
- Familiarity with neurodiversity-affirming, strength-based, and client-centred approaches
- Experience with or interest in telehealth and community-based service delivery is an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working collaboratively in a small team environment
- Valid BC Driver’s License and access to own vehicle for home/community visits is an asset
