Job Number: J0226-0306 Job Type: Full Time Job Category: Science Salary: Open Laboratory Analyst Asbestos Laboratory Analyst Asbestos Location: Saint-Laurent, QC Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 5:30 Compensation: $ per hour Position Overview Our client is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Asbestos) to join their team in Saint-Laurent, Quebec.
No prior commercial laboratory experience is required.
The organization is open to candidates who demonstrate a solid interest in developing technical laboratory skills and becoming proficient in standard laboratory practices and procedures.
Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
This role focuses exclusively on asbestos analysis within a structured laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze bulk and solid materials for asbestos content using PLM (Polarized Light Microscopy) and PCM (Phase Contrast Microscopy) Determine visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos and non-asbestos materials Perform ancillary quality control procedures in accordance with internal QA/QC standards Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system Maintain, clean,
and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as required Perform quality control practices in accordance with the company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual Support administrative duties including sample login, data entry, scanning, emailing reports, and answering phones Perform other related duties as assigned by management Qualifications Two-year diploma in Geology or a related scientific discipline (required) Training in light microscopy, optical mineralogy, or petrographic microscopy (preferred) Academic or commercial laboratory experience is an asset 01 year of experience performing asbestos PLM/PCM analysis (preferred but not required) Ability to distinguish colors accurately for analytical purposes Solid attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to multitask Ability to travel for training to another company location in Canada or the United States Additional Information Candidates must reside within commuting distance of Saint-Laurent, QC Supplemental perks and paid time off offered Equal opportunity employer Votre partenaire en recrutement Your recruitment partner Are you interested in this job?
