The Tłegǫ́hłı̨ Got’įnę Government (TGG) is hiring a Seasonal Master Limited (60 GT) Captain to join our Marine Services team.
The Tłegǫ́hłı̨ Got’įnę Government (TGG), an Indigenous government organization, is seeking qualified applicants for a seasonal Master Limited (60 GT) Captain position within its Marine Services division. This role operates on a two (2) weeks on / two (2) weeks off rotational schedule.
TGG Marine Services operates within a highly regulated oil and gas workplace. All crew members must complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing and may be subject to random testing throughout the season.
Applicants must be able to attend orientation and training in Norman Wells, NT, at least three (3) days prior to deployment.

The Master Limited (60 GT) Captain is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Ensuring the safe operation of the vessel at all times
- Maintaining compliance with applicable local and international maritime regulations and safety standards
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel onboard
- Overseeing the safe transport of cargo or towing operations
- Preparing voyage plans and maintaining accurate vessel logs and records
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master, Limited (<60 GT)
Certificate
- MED Basic Safety and Small Passenger Vessel Safety (MED A1 & A2)
- MED STCW Advanced Firefighting (MED C)
- Restricted Operator Certificate – Maritime Commercial
- Marine Basic First Aid
- Small Vessel Machinery Operator (without restriction) Certificate
Additional Qualifications (or willingness to obtain:)
- 2 years experience in marine or vessel supervision
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping abilities
- Professional and courteous communication skills
- Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with supervisors and crew
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 months
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
