MVRMWC is seeking two individuals for the roles of Seasonal Yard Attendant. These positions are a full time, seasonal summer position (40 hours per week, Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm), plus occasional overtime as required to meet workload demands and schedules. The position will report directly to the Operations Manager and is ideal for students or recent graduates.
The Mountain View Regional Waste Management Commission (“MVRMWC”) provides solid waste management services to residents and businesses in Central Alberta. The Commission is owned by the municipalities of Carstairs, Cremona, Didsbury, Olds, Sundre and Mountain View County. MVRWMC operates a Class II Landfill in Didsbury, Alberta and waste transfer stations in Water Valley, and Sundre, Alberta.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Have a “safety-first” attitude, ability to minimize hazards and setting an example to all employees through cultivating a secure and positive work setting.
Maintaining positive interactions with the public, assisting customers with waste, recycling, and disposal
Assist with site maintenance such as litter control, grass cutting, and painting.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to provide clear direction in any emergency situations.
Own reliable transportation and class 5 Driver’s license
