Role: Crisis Communications Manager
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location. Indicative range: $90,000 – $145,000 (USD equivalent), plus perks.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Crisis Communications Manager to lead reactive and proactive communications during high-stakes situations. The role combines clear thinking under pressure with robust writing — protecting reputation and shaping the narrative when stakes are high.
Key Responsibilities
Lead crisis communications planning, including playbooks and scenario plans
Manage live response on emerging issues across stakeholder groups
Draft statements, talking points, and stakeholder communications
Coordinate spokespersons, media training, and Q&A; preparation
Partner with legal, security, and executive teams during incidents
Lead post-incident reviews and incorporate lessons into playbooks
Required Skills and Qualifications
5+ years in communications, with significant crisis or issues experience
Track record of leading high-pressure communications situations
Excellent written communication, including statements and stakeholder messaging
Robust judgement and calm under pressure
Experience working with executives, legal, and external counsel
Comfort with media relations and reactive press handling
