Role: Bioinformatics Scientist
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: Market-competitive salary commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location. Indicative range: $95,000 – $155,000 (USD equivalent), plus benefits.
Role Overview
We are hiring a Bioinformatics Scientist to design and run computational analyses across genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data. The role combines deep biological knowledge with strong programming and statistics — turning sequencing data into research insights.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and run bioinformatics pipelines for NGS, RNA-seq, single-cell, or proteomics data
Conduct statistical analyses on biological datasets and interpret results
Build reproducible workflows in Snakemake, Nextflow, or comparable tools
Visualise and communicate findings to biology and product teams
Collaborate with wet-lab scientists on experimental design
Contribute to internal tooling, documentation, and data infrastructure
Required Skills and Qualifications
MS or PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related field
3+ years in a bioinformatics role
Robust Python and R skills; familiarity with Bash and HPC workflows
Hands-on experience with NGS analysis (alignment, variant calling, RNA-seq)
Working knowledge of cloud platforms and reproducible workflow tools
Excellent written communication and ability to document analyses clearly
