ABOUT THE ROLE: The Foreman will oversee all aspects of a project, such as site safety, efficiency and team morale, organizing all materials, sub-contractors and labour to execute the project.
All Journeypersons and Apprentices will report to the Foreman when on site. RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Management Lead project management excellence by ensuring that: Key project timelines and deadlines are maintained and communication with the Superintendent, Project Manager, and Client is consistent - Maintain a daily site journal - Updating Field Time and Field Manager daily - Updating project planner weekly - Provide a progress reports as required for site construction - Ensuring deadlines are met Forecasting for labour, equipment and materials, to ensure the right resources are available and ready when needed - Coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure materials are on site in time for installation - Receive all material on site and confirm to packing slip A site plan is developed and communicated to the team, to ensure a seamless execution of the project - Assigning tasks to each Electrician Overseeing daily work completed is up to Impact Energy and the clients standards The Impact Energy Safety Program is upheld and enforced, and any incidents are reported and documented - Enforcing all Health & Safety policies on site - Ensuring safety documentation and sign offs are completed daily or as needed - Assisting Team Members in Health & Safety emergencies - Encourage and facilitate learning of the Impact HSE manual and OH&S; Time and materials are recorded in Field Time and eMobile, for accurate project costing reports and payroll Sub-contractors hired by Impact Energy maintain our standards of work performed Team Leadership Lead the growth and development of the Projects team by: Providing strength and chance based feedback to Apprentices, Journeypersons,
Senior Foremen and Project Managers Providing on site orientation to Team Members new to the site Being open to training and sharing your knowledge and experience with those learning the electrical trade Ensuring maintenance and upkeep of service trucks is completed Keeping team morale up Seeking input into the days planning and activities from all working on site Attending all Team Huddles and other Team Meetings Consulting with Electrical Projects Manager on any warnings, disciplinary action and terminations Electrical Work Helping on projects by: Assisting with ground work Installing conduit Pulling and terminating wires Overseeing the installation of electrical equipment Troubleshooting any issues that arise, and recommending repairs or replacement options Ensuring work areas are kept neat, organized and free of dangerous and hazardous materials REQUIREMENTS Hold a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as a Construction Electrician Minimum 3 years Industrial Experience Minimum 3 years as a Journeyperson Working from heights, including work from ladders, scaffolds and roofs Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches, laying conduit, and lifting and moving heavier objects Operating and using tools and equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring and testing devices, power tools - Making sure, you only operate or use tools and equipment you have been properly trained on Ensuring all tools and equipment are in optimal working condition.
Removing from service if defect is detected Ensuring electrical equipment installs meet or exceed code and manufacturer requirements Ensuring all safety certifications are up to date and valid Class 5 Drivers License, with clean Driver Abstract Able to pass a Criminal Record Check and D&A; Pre-Access Testing SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Safety Focused Willing to share knowledge, experiences and answer questions from Apprentices Professional appearance Willing to speak up with something does not seem right - Open to discussion when someone raises a concern KEY COMPETENCIES Building Customer Loyalty Decision Making Building Trust Managing Conflict Building Partnerships Follow-Ups Continuous Learning SECONDARY COMPETENCIES Negotiation Innovation Gaining Commitment WORK ENVIRONMENT Remote project with future fly-in/fly-out access; currently drive-in as airstrip is under development Paid travel time (8 hours) to and from site from Saskatoon Travel allowance provided for workers commuting from outside Saskatoon (rates vary by region) Candidates do not need to be based in Saskatoon or Saskatchewan Camp accommodations with newer facilities and private rooms for all workers Washrooms are private or semi-private depending on the building Meals provided on site Access to recreational amenities including fishing, canoeing, weight room, and games room HOW TO APPLY Please send your resume and all valid certifications to with the subject line: Industrial Foreman Include a brief note outlining: Your availability Whether you are local or require FIFO A Few Good Lads is an equal opportunity employer.
