Robinson Huron Waawiindamaagewin is seeking a Finance Clerk to join the Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will support the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, with a primary focus on accounts payable processing and payroll administration.
This position requires solid attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality while working in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process invoices and ensure appropriate approvals and coding.
- Prepare and process payment batches including cheques and electronic payments.
- Maintain accounts payable records and vendor files.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.
Payroll Support
- Assist with payroll preparation and processing.
- Maintain payroll records including timesheets and deductions.
- Ensure payroll information is accurate and submitted on schedule.
- Assist with payroll reporting and statutory remittances.
Financial and Administrative Support
- Maintain organized financial filing systems.
- Assist with financial data entry and record keeping.
- Support financial reporting and audit preparation.
- Respond to staff and vendor inquiries related to payments and payroll.
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance department as required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work
experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration.
- Experience with accounts payable and payroll processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with accounting or financial management software is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Indigenous governance organizations, public sector, or non-profit finance is an asset.
