The Opportunity
The City of Dauphin has an immediate opening for a Mechanic 1 or 2. Reporting to the Public Works Foreman, this position performs diagnosis, repair, and maintenance on City of Dauphin and related organizations’ heavy equipment, machinery, and light vehicles.

Qualifications:

- Enrolled in (Mechanic 1) or completed (Mechanic 2) Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (Manitoba) or comparable
- Valid Class 3 licence with air brake endorsement (or ability to obtain)
- Enrolled in (Mechanic 1) or obtained (Mechanic 2) Safety Inspection Certificate for Truck and Trailer Motor Vehicles
- Must supply own tools (tool allowance provided)

This is a full-time, in-scope position with pension and benefits as per the CUPE Local 857 Collective Agreement.





Starting wages:

Mechanic 1 - $35.93/hour

Mechanic 2 - $39.18/hour
