About Cape Jourimain Nature Centre
Cape Jourimain Nature Centre is a non-profit organization located in the federally protected Cape Jourimain National Wildlife Area. Operated by a volunteer board of directors, our mandate is provide programs that promote awareness and respect for Cape Jourimain's natural and cultural heritage. Some of our amenities include, an interpretation centre, a craft shop and cafe, an observation tower, a lighthouse, and over 7 km of nature trails.

Job Description

1) Assist in the daily operation of the Craft Shop, Café, and Entry Kiosk at Cape Jourimain Nature Centre including:

a) Working shifts with or without assistance in the craft shop/café/kiosk (greeting customers, assisting customers with purchases, encouraging entry contributions, creating end-of-day reports, balancing cash registers, and any other day-to-day tasks associated with operating a retail store/café/kiosk).

2) Assist with implementing public education programs, products, and events to increase understanding and appreciation of Cape Jourimain's natural and cultural heritage.

a) Leading guided tours and programs, delivering activities on event days, staffing the Cape Jourimain lighthouse and welcome desk, greeting visitors and answering public inquiries, developing current interpretive resources.

Ensures adherence to all applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations, including National Wildlife Area regulations and CJNC policies, procedures, and job descriptions;

4) This position reports to the Operations Manager

5) This position requires work on weekdays, and weekends and may change based on the needs of the Centre;

6) Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license

· Experience in retail, sales, or customer service is preferred.

- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude, work ethic, and eagerness to learn and grow
- Commitment to safety and industry standards
- Proficient in English, verbal and written communication

Nice to have:

· Experience with Square POS

· Safe Food Handlers Certificate

· CPR/First Aid Certificate

· Ability to communicate in French
