We are currently seekingnJourneyperson Powerline Technicians (PLT)nto join our growing team to support Distribution projects in the Windsor / Tilbury, ON area.

Reporting to the Construction Foreman, PLT's are responsible for construction of overhead and underground electrical power distribution systems. This is a hands-on role where your technical ability and commitment to safety will directly support our operations and team culture.

n

Please Note: Candidates must reside locally or within a reasonable commuting distance. These projects will be for unionized worksites. Candidates must be willing to join Canadian Union of Skilled Workers (CUSW).nDuties and Responsibilitiesn:

n

n
- Erect and maintain steel / wood poles, towers, and guy wires
n
- Install overhead and underground power lines, insulators, conductors, transformers, switches, and associated equipment
n
- Perform conductor stringing, sagging, clipping, and dead-ending (energized and de-energized)
n
- Execute advanced system switching tasks, including reclosers and loop feeds
n
- Perform UG (underground) cable testing, terminations, and equipment installation
n
- Splice, solder, and insulate conductors for connections
n
- Model safe work practices and ensure crew adherence to Valard's HSE policies
n
- Mentor apprentices and junior personnel in tasks, safety protocols, and equipment use
n
- Proficiently carry out advanced live line work procedures and teach basic live line procedures to apprentices
n
- Lead or assist with job hazard assessments, fall protection plans, and critical lift plans
n
- Ensure proper documentation of safety forms, inspections, and procedural compliance
n
- Submit daily documentation and reports
n

nRequirementsn

n
- Journeyperson Powerline Technician (PLT) certification
n
- Proven experience in the utility or electrical construction sector
n
- Direct power distribution experience
n
- Valid Drivers Lisence (Preference for Commercial Drivers Lisence) with ability to provide an acceptable Drivers Abstract
n




- Demonstrated experience in energized work, system switching, and UG installations
n
- Class 4 Rubber Glove experience
n
- Strong understanding of construction and maintenance practices for distribution systems
n
- Proficiency in reading construction prints and electrical schematics
n
- Preference for Confined Space Certificate, UWPC, Working at Heights Cert, First Aid (CPR/AED)
n

nThis project will be a unionized worksite. Candidates must be willing to join Canadian Union of Skilled Workers (CUSW)nBenefitsnThis position offers an hourly rate ofn$45 - $55/hrn, depending on experience and qualifications.nBenefits are provided by CUSW.n
