Primary Purpose: The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring production lines have necessary materials for assembly and finished goods are moved to the warehouse.

n

Essential Job Functions:

n

General

n

n
- Transport raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to and from fabrication areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment
n
- Stage materials for fabrication based on production schedules or work orders
n
- Load and unload materials from machines, racks
n
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts
n
- Identify and report damaged or defective materials
n
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
n
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and quality control teams to ensure smooth workflow
n

nArrange material in sorting and staging lanes.nn




- Ensure finished goods are packaged according to SOP’s and delivered to the warehouse staging area.

- Performs job in safe manner following all procedures and safety rules.

- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
n
- Completes task from start to finish in allotted time with high quality.

nEducation and Work Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Prior Forklift experience an asset; however, re-certification at our facility is required per Occupational Health & Safety Act.n

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing and verbal).

- Ability to work with minimal supervision.

- Ability to understand and follow directions.

- Ability to work and adapt in a continuously changing environment.

- Ability to use a forklift and pallet jack.

- Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
n
- A significant portion of the workday involves standing, walking, siting, bending, kneeling, climbing and lifting.
n
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
n
- Ability to move heavy objects with assistive devices: forklifts and pallet jacks.
n
- Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination are needed for some tasks.
n
- Tasks like loading and unloading product may involve repetitive hand and arm movements.
n
- The work is typically performed in a warehouse environment with minimal exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, or other adverse conditions. PPE includes: safety goggles, gloves, and CSA approved work boots hearing protection.
n
- The normal work week is up to 40 hours, but the hours will vary according to production demands. Some overtime may be required.
n
