We operate our own extrusion lines in-house and are currently expanding into a new ~100,000 sq ft facility equipped with two larger-capacity production lines. The Opportunity

nWe are looking for an experienced, self-directed Millwright Mechanic to join our growing maintenance team. This is a critical hire as we commission and scale up our new facility. You will be responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of extrusion equipment and related food manufacturing machinery. You'll work closely with production supervisors and the operations team to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement.n

Key Responsibilities

- Install, align, and commission extrusion lines and auxiliary equipment (feeders, conveyors, dryers, coaters, packaging equipment)
n
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all plant equipment according to established schedules
n
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures quickly and accurately to minimize production downtime
n
- Participate in the buildout and commissioning of the new ~100,000 sq ft production facility
n
- Support new equipment startup and process changeovers
n
- Work collaboratively with production supervisors and line operators to resolve recurring equipment issues
n




- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts inventory records
n
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and process improvements
n
- Follow all food safety (GMP), health & safety, and regulatory requirements at all times
n
- Assist in training production staff on basic equipment care and operator maintenance tasks
n

nQualificationsn

n
- Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) — 433A (required)
n
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a food manufacturing, extrusion, or plastics environment preferred
n
- Hands-on experience with extruders (single or twin screw), conveyors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
n
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems: gearboxes, bearings, couplings, drive systems
n
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting an asset (working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs)
n
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
n
- Robust problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a production environment
n
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
n
- Availability for rotating shifts and on-call response as needed
