Are you a robust team player and have a desire to help others? We are looking for a Registered Care Aide to join our team to work in the North Saanich area. We have shifts in the 3‑ to 12‑hour range available.

Responsibilities

n

- Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team
n
- Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client’s presentation
n
- Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
n
- Assist clients with bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
n
- Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries, laundry, etc.
n
- Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care
n
- Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team
n
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients and staff
n
- Drive clients in their vehicle to appointments and outings
n

Job Requirements

nn
- Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with a BC Registry Number
n
- Have or be able to obtain a criminal record check
n
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proficiently both verbally and in writing
n
- Ability to deal with others effectively and respectfully
n
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
n
- Ability to organize work
n
- Ability to operate related equipment
n
- Valid driver’s license; a reliable vehicle is a bonus
n
- First Aid/CPR certificate
n

nOur office serves seniors across the island and surrounding communities, including Sidney, Saanich, Oak Bay, Fairfield, James Bay, Esquimalt & Westshore. This position may require travel to those areas – we do our best to match you with clients in your area.
