ConnectWell Community Health is seeking Respite Workers for our recreational programming to clients at our Adult Day and Summer Recreation Programs. Staff will be assigned as needed across our different programs and sites, supporting both children and adults with complex medical, physical and developmental needs. This position includes the option to participate in HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan).

Position Summary: Duties include providing direct care support to individuals with complex medical, physical and developmental needs as part of a team of support professionals.
n
Qualifications:
n
n
- Diploma or Degree (or working towards) in one of the Social Sciences or Health related field or combined education & experience
n
- Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and time management skills
n
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication
n
- Substantial and proven experience in working with individuals with special needs. As well as experience working within special needs day and recreation program environments.
n
- Work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
n
- Function as part of a support team for adult day and summer programs
n
- Provide personal tasks as required for individuals being supported
n
- Implementation of individualized goals and objectives including medical & behavior protocols.
