Are you a highly motivated individual looking to grow your career in aquaculture? We are seeking a Broodstock Supervisor to join our Freshwater team in Northampton, NB. Our Northampton facility is an Atlantic salmon broodstock site located near Woodstock, NB. The facility employs full-time staff to support year-round salmon egg production and includes an intake system, flow-through tanks, and multiple RAS egg incubation systems.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Broodstock Supervisor is a key role in our salmon production process. You will lead daily broodstock activities, drive continuous improvement, and help ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality results.

Key responsibilities include daily care, performance monitoring, and welfare of salmon broodstock. You will support high-quality egg production through effective husbandry and spawning operations, strong biosecurity practices, and accurate data collection and reporting. You will also supervise, support, and train hatchery technicians during broodstock and spawning activities, while ensuring compliance with animal welfare, health and safety, and environmental standards.

This is a permanent position with a schedule of five (5) days out of seven (7), including a weekend rotation. The successful candidate will also participate in a weekly night-shift rotation and provide 24-hour on-call coverage as required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

You’re interested in aquaculture, motivated to learn, and ready to lead from the front in a hands-on environment.

- Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience in salmon or trout broodstock management and/or hatchery operations
- Degree in aquaculture, fisheries, or a related field (considered an asset)




- Strong practical fish handling and spawning experience
- Solid understanding of fish welfare, biosecurity, and water quality management
- Strong attention to detail and confidence with record-keeping
- Ability to lead by example and work effectively in a hands-on role
- Experience with data collection and document management
- Well-developed English verbal and written communication
- Physical ability to complete repetitive tasks and handle up to 25kg of material
- Self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment
- Commitment to safe work practices and animal welfare
- Flexibility to meet operational demands
- Willingness to participate in Mowi’s development and training opportunities
