Structural Steel Detailer The Role:

n

Bunch is seeking a Structural Steel Detailer to join our team. The selected candidate will be based at either our Clearwater Facility, located 19km east of Rocky Mountain House or our Red Deer Office.

n

Key Responsibilities:

n3D Modeling & Draftingn

n
Develop accurate 3D models and assemblies using Advanced Steel and SolidWorks
n
Produce 2D fabrication and arrangement drawings from 3D models
n
Create shop‑ready drawings including:
n
General arrangements
n
Member and plate details
n
Connection and assembly drawings
n
Maintain model accuracy, layering, and drawing standards
n

nDesign Development & Engineering Supportnn
Translate engineering concepts, calculations, and sketches into detailed 3D models
n
Support design development using RISA outputs for member sizes and load paths
n
Update and revise models based on engineering review and project changes
n
Ensure designs meet functional, fabrication, and constructability requirements
n

nCoordination & Clash Detectionnn
Import and coordinate models in Navisworks for multi‑discipline review
n
Perform clash detection and spatial coordination with other trades
n




Resolve layout conflicts and coordinate design changes with project teams
n
Participate in model review meetings and coordination sessions
n

nFabrication & Construction Supportnn
Ensure models and drawings are fabrication‑ready
n
Update drawings to reflect fabrication or site feedback
n
Support shop and field teams by providing transparent, coordinated drawings and models
n
Assist with as‑built documentation when required
n

The ideal candidate is:

Highly organized, reliable and detail-oriented
n
Experienced with Advance Steel, Navisworks and Solidworks
n
Familiar with the oil and gas industry (considered an asset)
n
Committed to health, safety and environmental standards
n
A self-starter who works well independently with minimal supervision
n
A solid team player with proven communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
n
In possession of a valid driver’s license
n
Certified in H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS and TDG (considered an asset)
n
