Description:nATCO Frontec is seeking anRed SealnHeavy Duty Mechanicnto join our Site Services department in Resolute Bay, Nunavut. The Mechanic is responsible for the repair, overhaul, maintenance and service of a wide variety of equipment.

n

Working on a rotation of 4 weeks on/4 weeks off, with all travel paid.

n

Responsibilities:

n

n
Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services diesel powered vehicles, heavy trucks, heavy construction equipment, graders, dump trucks, and excavators
n
Fabricates, constructs, installs, and repairs equipment and machinery
n
Diagnoses equipment problems and determines repairs needed
n
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
n
May be called upon to operate other equipment
n
Other duties as assigned
n

nQualifications:n

n
Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification is required
n




A valid class 3 drivers license is required
n
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
n
Good verbal and written communications skills
n
Able to manage time and make decisions in a rapid paced environment
n
Able to weld, gas and AC/DC is a strong asset
n
Experience working in a remote setting is considered an asset
n
Strong commitment to follow workplace safety requirements and procedures
n
Able to perform a physically strenuous and demanding job i.e. lifting, pulling, etc.
n
Must be prepared to work in extreme weather conditions
n
