Balkwill Pharmacy is looking to add a full time Registered Pharmacy Technician to our team to work alongside our pharmacy manager/owner in all aspects of pharmacy operations! We are a locally owned independent pharmacy located in Trochu, Alberta (90km SE of Red Deer, 130km NE of Calgary), that has been the sole pharmacy in our community for many years. We have many compliance pack patients in our community and also service St.

Mary’s Healthcare Centre’s Continuing Care and attached senior’s lodge in Trochu.

All responsibilities will be performed alongside other members of the pharmacy team and will include:

Perform technical aspects of the dispensing process such as prescription processing and packaging, third party adjudication, and technical prescription verification.
n
Counsel patients on proper use of their medical devices (e.g. inhalers, blood glucose monitors, etc.) as allowed by scope of practice in Alberta.
n
Refer patients to pharmacist for clinical assessments as required
n
Inventory management such as wholesale order processing, backorder management, and receiving wholesale shipments
n
Check blister packs packaged by other pharmacy staff
n




Direct pharmacy assistants as required
n

nThis position may start immediately, but will remain open until the ideal candidate is found.nRegistration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacy is required. Practice experience within a community pharmacy is an asset, but new graduates are encouraged to apply! Experience with RTI Kroll Paperless Workflow, ScriptPro dispensing robots, and the AADL program are considered assets, but are not required.n

Our pharmacy is open Monday to Friday from 9am-6pm, and closed Saturdays, Sundays, and stat holidays. Our schedule is flexible, and may be willing to accommodate a part time position or an irregular schedule if needed.
