Reporting to the site Manager, the Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to patients in order to attain or maintain optimal function.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibilit
Ability and willingness to learn basic arrhythmia interpretatio
Willingness and ability to work in Emergency as require
Current certification in or willingness to obtain:
BCLS
Leadership, problem solving, decision-making, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
Assessment and interviewing skills
Ability and willingness to escort patients via ambulance services when required




Flexibility regarding hours of work to ensure that patient and staffing needs of the unit can be met in the rural environment
Ability and willingness to work in a team setting and contribute to continuous quality improvement
Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record

Physical Assessment Course
Palliative Care Experience
Two years recent medical surgical experience
