Tourism Harrison River Valley is a Destination Marketing Organization focused on marketing Agassiz, Harrison Hot Springs, Harrison Mills, Hemlock Valley and all the shared communities in between. In addition to destination marketing, Tourism Harrison River Valley operates the Harrison Visitor Centre & Sasquatch Museum, coordinates local events, and supports our stakeholders through workshops and marketing. One of our key promotional tools is coordinating, hosting, and marketing attractive events to bring visitors to the region. The Tourism Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with these events and visitor servicing.
Job Title: Tourism Coordinator
Status: Seasonal and 35 hours per week – 2 Position Available
Hourly Rate: $19.00 / hour
Location: This position is at the Harrison Hot Springs Visitor Centre + Sasquatch Museum with onsite work in the Village of Harrison Hot Springs during events.

Tourism Harrison is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Tourism Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, and execution of our summer events including but not limited to - Sasquatch Days, Canada Day, and Bands on the Beach. Reporting to the Event Coordinator, Visitor Centre Manager, and Executive Director, the ideal candidate brings enthusiasm, strong organizational skills, and a passion for community-driven tourism.
This role is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in event coordination while contributing to meaningful tourism initiatives in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assisting the Event Coordinator with their role, including:
o Coordinating volunteers for events
o Management and organization of all events
o Securing sponsorships for various events
o Maintaining the Tourism Harrison website relating to events
o Hiring various entertainers and performers for Tourism Harrison events and activities.
- Marketing activities
o Onsite coordination of events
o Budgeting and reporting
- Provide visitor services in the Visitor Centre, at local events and festivals throughout the season as applicable.
- ·Comply with skilled dress code and follow all Standard Operating Procedures and protocols
Requirements:
· Ideally some event planning experience
- Experience using Canva to create promotional materials and signage in accordance with brand guidelines.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and OneDrive.
- Experience with WordPress is an asset.
- Experience following budgets is an asset.
- Ability to be creative and problem solve.
- Must be flexible to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
- Valid Drivers Licence
This position is funded by Canada Summer Jobs. To be eligible, you must be:
- Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)
- Have a valid Driver's Licence
- Able to work 35 hours a week including weekends.
