Structural Steel Detailer

The Role:

Bunch is seeking a Structural Steel Detailer to join our team. The selected candidate will be based at either our Clearwater Facility, located 19km east of Rocky Mountain House or our Red Deer Office.

Key Responsibilities:

3D Modeling & Drafting

- Develop accurate 3D models and assemblies using Advanced Steel and SolidWorks
- Produce 2D fabrication and arrangement drawings from 3D models
- Create shop‑ready drawings including:
- General arrangements
- Member and plate details
- Connection and assembly drawings
- Maintain model accuracy, layering, and drawing standards

Design Development & Engineering Support

- Translate engineering concepts, calculations, and sketches into detailed 3D models
- Support design development using RISA outputs for member sizes and load paths
- Update and revise models based on engineering review and project changes
- Ensure designs meet functional, fabrication, and constructability requirements

Coordination & Clash Detection

- Import and coordinate models in Navisworks for multi‑discipline review
- Perform clash detection and spatial coordination with other trades




- Resolve layout conflicts and coordinate design changes with project teams
- Participate in model review meetings and coordination sessions

Fabrication & Construction Support

- Ensure models and drawings are fabrication‑ready
- Update drawings to reflect fabrication or site feedback
- Support shop and field teams by providing clear, coordinated drawings and models
- Assist with as‑built documentation when required

What We’re Looking For: We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual who is passionate and eager to learn.

- The ideal candidate is:
- Highly organized, reliable and detail-oriented
- Experienced with Advance Steel, Navisworks and Solidworks
- Familiar with the oil and gas industry (considered an asset)
- Committed to health, safety and environmental standards
- A self-starter who works well independently with minimal supervision
- A solid team player with proven communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- In possession of a valid driver’s license
- Certified in H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS and TDG (considered an asset)
