The Seasonal Communications Specialist will play a key role in supporting ClearWater Farm’s summer activities by enhancing communication efforts, while promoting the Vision, Mission, and Values of the Farm and The ClearWater Futures Foundation.
n
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited to use their creativity to enhance communications for a small organization that covers multiple lines of business under its mission, including: events ,education, and food and farming.
n
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
n
CONTENT CREATION
n· Supporting the Resource Development and Communications Manager in all aspects of organization communications including digital media and copywritingn
· Monitoring ClearWater Farm social media accounts (reply to comments and boost engagement)
n
· Capturing day-to-day photo and video
n
· Supporting the Resource Development and Executive Business Partner in updating an organization-wide communications schedule.
n
ADMINISTRATION
n· Supporting the Resource Development and Executive Business Partner in maintaining our contact databasesn
· Completing a website review to capture outdated information that requires an update
n
· Completing a review of our online presence
n
EVENTS:
n· Capturing photo and video content at summer eventsn
· Develop current and creative ways to encourage newsletter sign-ups on site
n
· Support the collection of data at events
n
· Occasionally attend outreach activities
n
Qualifications:
n· Currently enrolled in or completed post-secondary diploma in Communications Studies; Marketing; Digital Media or related field.n
· Experience working in a government-funded, not for profit agency (asset).
n
· Experience creating and managing content for social media
n
· Proficiency with Social Media Platforms / Meta Business Suite (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and Canva
n
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management software, and on-line work tools (MS Projects, Keap, Wordpress, Shopify)
n
· Creative with exceptional communication skills, as well as demonstrated organization, time management and administrative skills
n
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
n
· Qualifications as set out by the Federal Government under 2026 Canada Summer Jobs.
