Job Title: Events Coordinator

n

Are you passionate about preserving and promoting the traditions of West Moberly First Nations? Join our team as an Events Coordinator, where you will play a central role in bringing the cultural, artistic, and community-based initiatives of our community to life. You’ll work collaboratively across a variety of departments and external partners to lead the planning and execution of events that create a welcoming space for dialogue, learning, celebration, and community engagement.

This is more than a role – it’s an opportunity to honor the past, enrich the present, and inspire the future. This is a full-time (35 hours per week), in-person position requiring the successful candidate to be located at the lake, in Chetwynd or Hudson Hope areas. In addition, there is a robust RRSP program, a comprehensive benefits package, and, if needed, a relocation package.

Key Responsibilities Event Development and Production

n

Lead the coordination of both internal and external events from concept to completion by overseeing the research and planning, project management and full execution of events

n

Collaborate with staff, department leads, interdepartmental committees, and external stakeholders to support the production of members and leadership circle events and offsite festivals and programs

n

Oversee and track all activities and arrangements required for event logistics, including grant writing, reporting, obtaining permits, licensing, catering, floorplans & signage, programming, collections, digital content, and cultural deliverables

n

Support with hands-on set up and take down as needed, as well as with A/V troubleshooting

n

Evaluate events, programs and festivals to support continuous improvement in delivery and increased knowledge for grant research and writing Facility Bookings, Rentals, and Events

n

Manage the full Facility Rental process to ensure safe and efficient execution of events

n

Coordinate venue bookings and payment with the finance department once overall suitability of gallery spaces has been assessed for stakeholder needs and optimized attendee engagement

n

Generate contracts for facility rentals, ensure compliance with regulations,



and work with Management to coordinate required event staff Administration

n

Develop and implement processes for timely and effective communication across departments and external partners

n

Prepare budgets in consultation with other stakeholders

n

Compile evaluation reports to support continuous improvement of events … and more! Your toolkit includes

n

Bachelor of Arts, project or event management, or relevant experience combined with a diploma or certificate in a related field

n

3-5 years’ experience in project and/or event management and delivery in the arts sector, including facility bookings/rentals and scheduling volunteers/contractors

n

Experience working with project management software, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite

n

Demonstrated knowledge of obtaining project and event permits (ex.

n

Special Occasion

n

Licenses, Event Licenses, Liquor Licenses, Noise By-Law Exemptions)

n

Understanding of First Nations Community genealogy, traditions, culture and history

n

Ability to adapt and stay flexible in dynamic and challenging circumstances

n

Exceptional organization and collaboration skills

n

Ability to communicate effectively through a diplomatic and culturally sensitive approach

n

Serving It Right, Food Safe and First Aid Certification, or willingness to acquire training

n

Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check

n
